History & Misson

Founded in Santa Barbara, California, in 2013 by performers Lara Hollaway and Mathew Edwardsen, Theatre for a Cause was established on a simple belief: great theatre can create a meaningful charitable impact. The company later brought that vision to Austin, Texas, where it produced theatrical works that supported local nonprofit organizations.

Notable performances, such as Love, Loss and What I Wore, benefited Breast Cancer Resource Centers and exemplified the organization's commitment to community outreach.

Today, Theatre for a Cause embarks on an exciting new chapter in Western North Carolina, continuing its dedication to theatrical excellence, charitable partnerships, and making live theatre accessible to a broader audience.

Be Part of the impact!.

Great theatre takes more than talented performers.
It takes a community.
Whether you're joining us in the audience, sharing your talents onstage or behind the scenes, partnering with us as a nonprofit organization, or supporting a production as a sponsor, you can help make a difference.
Together, we can create extraordinary theatrical experiences that give back to the communities we call home.
